Foam dust suppression systems
benefits

The use of Foam Technology to control nuisance dust in mineral / aggregate processing and handling is relatively new in the UK. This technique was pioneered by our partners Momar Inc in the USA over 20 years ago.

Since that time the application equipment and techniques have been much improved and our system is now the most versatile and reliable. We have also developed a mobile version which allows us to carry out demonstrations – giving potential customers a realistic appraisal of its capability.

Foam Dust Suppression Systems have a number of key advantages over alternative techniques such as Extraction Systems, Water/Surfatctant Spray Systems and Fogging or Misting Systems.

The key difference is that Foam Systems ....

"prevent dust from getting airborne in the first place."

From this basic but important difference flows a number of other advantages

  • Once treated the dust will remain with the material and will not be released at subsequent transfer points, screens, stack outs nor load outs
  • Foam systems use 1/30th to 1/50th of the amount of water compared to traditional water spray systems
  • Foam Systems require a fraction of the energy required to run large and cumbersome extraction plants
  • Foam systems are not susceptible to freezing temperatures
  • Maintenance cost is very minimal

So how does it work?   arrow
